depends on the gallonage, but neons would make a deeper school, front to back wise, in a hex tank, I think

Angels like tall tanks. A few angels and a pleco would make a nice display with a big chunk of driftwood in the middle.

Voodoo said what I would have said.

You don't want to get zebra danios or a very active fish like that because they need a lot of space to swim around.

get a fighter fish they love big tanks and get a red one cause that are less prone to disease(apparently) or killfishes, mollies scats(only a few),puffers the choice is endless

Great Question! I was thinking about a hex tank around 100 gallons and was wondering what to put in there. Angels would be beautiful. Shell dwelers would also be awesome if you had a smaller african cichlid hex tank.

I attached a picture of gordeez's tank. His website is www.gordeez.com but the picture is no longer there. I'm just trying to give him credit for a beautiful hex setup.

Thats a pretty high tank, hope the floor can support the weight. ;)

i thought you were talking about a small betta hex at first, i tihnk we need size, but hexs arent for bottom dewllers, hexs are like tall and thin, not much room for bottom dwellers, but mid-water-and-top water do good, neons, guppies,betta,paradise-gourami(yes thats what i call them )mabey angels, but ive never kept angels, too agressive for me.
