hi all just wondering what your opinions on the cheap copies of common cannister filter out there. Have you bought one? wat type and wat did ya think?

Not entirely sure what you mean. Do you mean like some type of bootleg or counterfiet filter? Seems pretty pointless to me, is there a site with more info about them?

Probably he thinks about Resun and others china manifactured , I got one
after 1 year it started to sound very funny and the ******* died on me , with regular cleaning and every thing if it says 1 year waranty that is how long it will last
bane

I am not in this hobby short term, and I want equipment that does the job I need and which I can count on to operate long-term. I am far more concered with life-cycle costs than with initial purchase price. For me, Eheim canisters with good engineering and quality control, and low power consumption, stocked with indefinite-life media, work out lowest cost per operating year over their 20-30+ year lifespan.

I'm giving a JEBO 838 a trial run - so far so good but it's only a month old. It's super quiet and the flow is perfect. For 50 bucks I had to give it a shot.

I am running 2 of the Jebo 828 cannisters, which I think have now been renamed the oddesea cfs4. IME, no problems at all, both are about 9-10 months old.
They run, don't leak and are quiet. I can't think of anything else to say.

Jebo and odyssea are 2 whole different brands eventhough the products are the same anyhow I also have a cfs4 and it works great I am planning on getting 2 more.

i have not bought anything but eheim but, theres alot out there...

PrimePower - nisso - $50~60
EXPower - Tetra - $60~150
SuperJetFilterr - ADA - $500~1500

theres more like sudo, Jaqno, kotobuki but there are nto as popular as the ones above.
