View Full Version : Decent Plant Reference Site
And by one of our own AC members, Starry.
It is still a work in progress, but it is one of the more comprehensive plant sites I've seen, with multiple pics of each plant instead of just one example. Worth the visit (and don't forget to answer the feedback form!)

Looks really good to me. I definately like the pictures, I really can't tell what a plant is by looking at one pic and reading a short description.
I only have one suggestion. Show the bulbs, roots, etc. Some plants have similar leaves but very different roots or bulbs.
Really nice looking site. I've visited it before and wished that it was more comprehensive. Not in the info on each plant shown, but that it had more plants on it to view. Hope they continue work on it. I'm always looking for a really good all-encompassing site to be able to turn to, to find pictures and info on plants that interest me.

Wow, thanks guys :) I'm glad you find the site useful. I promise there's more profiles coming, I'm kind of going alphabetically. I'd like to get pictures from anyone, either of a plant or your tank shots. Credit will always be given. It's also interesting to hear people's experiences with specific plants, so if you find a great new trick for keeping a plant algae-free or getting it to reproduce, or anything like that, I'd love to hear them and add them to the profiles.

Looks really good--I bookmarked it! Suggestion: You might want to put a "home" link on each page. Some folks (like me) like to look around a site first to check it out, then return to the "home" page to bookmark it. The site looks great!

Ok Starry. The pressure is on now. Keep adding to the list and we'll keep on checkin' in. Again, thanks for the effort.

There is one - in the top frame, right beside the menu image map with the "vallisneria." This might get cut off if you're on 800x600 rather than 1024x768.
Thanks for visiting :)

Keep trying, it should work.
