What was the best christmas ever for you?
First Christmas with our son, 1986. He was 8 months old. Life was good, then.

What was the most memorable christmas for you?
When I was 15, my parents drove our family down to Florida. Had never been that far south before. It was different having a green Christmas. (Just today in our paper it said that the chances of having snow on Christmas here is 99%.) DisneyWorld was practically new at that time (1972).

What was the best(NON living-breathing) christmas gift for you?
Not sure, there's been lotsa nice ones, but when I was young I desperately wanted Kabala (game). It had an unusual box, flat on top and angled down on the sides. My uncle bought it for me, and didn't bother trying to disguise the shape. Soon as we got out to the farm, and I saw it under the tree, I knew what it was.

What Do you want for christmas?
Anything that would add to my collections would be good.

What is your favorite Christmas food?
Anything I don't have to cook myself.

What is your favorite christmas song/carol?
English: O Holy Night and Good King Wenceslas
Ukrainian: Vo Vflyemi

Do you have all your shopping done?
One more to buy. Except for my husbands siblings side - We have a draw on that side and we haven't even gotten together to pick names yet.

What is your favorite gift that you are giving?
More Red Dwarf DVD's for my son. We all enjoy that show. Then we make sure to set aside a family night once a week to watch 2 or 3 episodes. It's nice.

What other holidays do you celebrate?
Always big family get-togethers on my mom's side for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter and Grey Cup (that's a holiday, right?)

What was the best christmas ever for you?
That's tough. I think every year is the best. As a child it was the year I got a "My Friend Mandy" doll. I wanted that doll SO much. I still have her. PLUS...we named our daughter Mandy. So I now have the real live version.

What was the most memorable christmas for you?
The Christmas we thought we were going to lose my mother in law. She was diagnosed with cancer a few weeks before Christmas and we were told it would be her last. That was a tough Christmas. Good news is she beat the cancer and is incredibly healthy now. That was in 2003. It is the time of year for miracles.

What was the best(NON living-breathing) christmas gift for you?
The year my husband actually put some thought in a gift for me. I usually buy myself something and wrap it and tell him what he got me (this year I'm getting a cute new robe :D ) Way back in the summer him and I had been in an antique shop and there was this antique cigarrette box. I loved it but it wasn't in the budget. He actually went back the next day and bought it for me and kept the secret until Christmas. It's the only gift I ever got that made me cry. It was that he actually put some thought and effort in it and it was "non-household related". I like getting new kitchen things, but heck, it's nice to have something more personal.

What Do you want for christmas?
I really can't think of anything. I have more fun buying for others and usually don't put much thought into what I want.

What is your favorite Christmas food?
The glass candy that my nieces come over and make with me and my kids.

What is your favorite christmas song/carol?
"Mary did you know" or "White Christmas"

Do you have all your shopping done?
Nope. My daughter is finished but we are getting our son a PS2, need to pick that up and some games and then for some others. I'm just starting

What is your favorite gift that you are giving?
The gifts to my children. I think my son will LOVE his PS2 and I can't wait to see the kids unwrap their gifts.

What other holidays do you celebrate?
The usual!

What was the best christmas ever for you?

That's too hard. I seem to enjoy so many of them.

What was the most memorable christmas for you?

Has to be when I was in the 4th grade. My folks were driving us 8 hours to my Grandparents house a couple days before Christmas, so they decided Santa would come early. My dad took my brother and I out for a ride to look at the lake, while Santa visited. I was feeling a little ill on the ride home, so just laid down in the back seat. When we got home, I wasn't feeling much better, but Santa had brought me a brand new BMX bike. Long story short, I wanted to go to the bathroom and puke, but my parents didn't think I could've gotten so ill so quickly. So, I am forced to pose for pictures on my new bike. Needless to say, there's a wonderful picture and my brother makes fun of me to this day about it.

What was the best(NON living-breathing) christmas gift for you?

Again, I have been blessed with many. I think the best would be one I never even asked for. My dad, brother and I all hunt. One year, out of the blue, my dad commisioned 3 identical hunting knives from a private maker. They are 3 of a kind and beautiful knives, each one has our name engraved on it.

What Do you want for christmas?

I am typing on it. My wife let me get it early, a new computer.

What is your favorite Christmas food?

Fudge. Not really food, but man, I love it.

What is your favorite christmas song/carol?

Silent Night

Do you have all your shopping done?

Not no, but heck no.

What is your favorite gift that you are giving?

My son is getting his first bicylce this year from Santa.

What other holidays do you celebrate?

Starting With January: New Year's Eve, The Superbowl (you say it's not a Holiday? I beg to differ), Valentine's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Throw in a smattering of birthdays and an anniversary as well.

What was the best christmas ever for you?
1986.

What was the most memorable christmas for you?
2000--I'd just bought a house, the weather was terrible, and I ended up stuck at home, by myself, without even so much as a tree. (didn't say happy memories--sorry, Christmas hasn't been a 'happy' memories holiday for everyone).

What was the best(NON living-breathing) christmas gift for you?
I think I'd have to say the construction set. It was a little track, and this orange little 'car' zoomed around and picked up different shells--dump trucks, bulldozers, etc, and you moved around little black plastic balls. Still have it, and loved it as a kid.

What Do you want for christmas?
Help packing up the house!

What is your favorite Christmas food?
Christmas cookies!

What is your favorite christmas song/carol?
Don't have one, really...I start out liking all of them, but after about the 7th day of them, I'm sick of all of them. Still love going to live perfomances, though!

Do you have all your shopping done?
Yep. Have to print out calendars for the grandmothers, and have them bound, but all the 'bought' gifts are purchased...And wrapped!

What is your favorite gift that you are giving?
The calendars for my grandmothers. My sister and I spend the whole year taking digital pictures, and then put them all in calendars. It's a great present that my grandmothers really like, and this year, Ihave the software to make the whole thing myself instead of just taking the pictures to Kinko's, so they'll have birthdays, and other 'customizations' that will be nice.

Also, my co-workers and I always get presents to give to kids through the Salvation Army instead of getting gifts for each other. It's much better--the money we'd spend on each other goes to making some little kid have a great Christmas instead of another weird thing we don't really like or need. My husband and I sponsor a child on our own as well--last year we bought a little boy sneakers, a jacket, and a bike. This year, a little boy will be getting a bunch of hot wheels, some Power Rangers stuff, and a winter coat.

What other holidays do you celebrate?
Ummm...The usual.

What was the best christmas ever for you?

From what I gather, it was one I don't remember. I was about 4, so it was probably 1989. My mum and uncle added lemonade to their wine and let me have a sip when I asked for one - except I took this huge gulp and was drunk pretty much immediately. Apparently I ran round the table singing "Postman Pat" then fell over.

What was the most memorable christmas for you?

Last year's was really memorable - it was my first one overseas (I was in Canada), my first one with my nan / uncles / cousins not there, AND the first one with my better half.

What was the best(NON living-breathing) christmas gift for you?

When I was 9, my mum's partner at the time wanted to get my sister and I these talking dinosaur toys, but they were out of stock, so for once I got what I REALLY wanted - a large reindeer troll with a soft body. I still have him. He's awesome.

What Do you want for christmas?

Time to relax - that's really what I'm after this year.

What is your favorite Christmas food?

The turkey, by far. It isn't Christmas without turkey (and it isn't turkey without cranberry sauce).

What is your favorite christmas song/carol?

Hmm. I don't think I have one. My Mum used to have this CD of Polish Carols that I really liked.

Do you have all your shopping done?

I sure do. All bought, wrapped, and under the tree.

What is your favorite gift that you are giving?

I'm proud of lots of gifts this year - I had awesome ideas for almost everyone. The best has to be my Nan's, though. She's a bingo fanatic and always says she doesn't want anything, so one of her presents is a santa-shaped bingo dabber. It's so tacky, it's awesome.

What other holidays do you celebrate?

I don't, really. I'm extra-lovely to my better half on Valentine's day and I never go through Easter Sunday without some kind of chocolate, but that's about it.

What was the best christmas ever for you?
Our oldest daughters first Christmas..hubby and I were like a couple of kids with a new toy. She was 8 months old. First grandchild on both sides of the family

What was the most memorable christmas for you?
The year before we were really dating, hubby and I were with some close friends exchanging Christmas presents. My present from him was a silver chain dog collar...as I was making an indignant response, and our friends were howling with laughter, he handed me a little box and said well maybe you ought to have this instead..and inside was a silver necklace and earrings. I still have them, wore the silver off the chain.

What was the best(NON living-breathing) christmas gift for you?
The first year we were married we were shopping up in Chicago. I stopped to admire a leather coat with a fur collar, I'd always wanted one. Hubby bought it for me, right on the spot. I still have it, *sigh* it doesn't fit..but I still ahve it.

What Do you want for christmas?
that is so hard to figure out anymore. A clean house but no one around here wants to put forth the effort. Some really nice kitchen pans..All Clad or similar.

What is your favorite Christmas food?Fruitcake. I know...no one else likes it. Good fruitcake is different than the cheap stuff.

What is your favorite christmas song/carol?
White Christmas

Do you have all your shopping done?
Probably about 80%

What is your favorite gift that you are giving?
I found a Care Bear house for my younger daughter on ebay. It is the one from the 80's...it is still mint in box, not removed from the little plastic bags..the stickers still on their sheet. SHe played with her sisters when she was little, never had one of her own.

What other holidays do you celebrate?
Easter..4th of July...Thanksgiving...are family get together times. New Years is for getting together with friends. Hubby does stuff for Vetern's Day and Memorial Day. We had a Mardi Gras party at work this year.
