Hello, i own 2 other saltwater tanks, one 55 gallon reef one 29 gallon fish only, and let me say this saltwater tanks are like drugs.. you cant just get one small tank and be happy oh no, u need more and more and more.. lol.. well i just purchased a 10 gallon bowfront tank with 18w 50/50 light 10 lbs of live sand about 7 lbs of liverock, an ebo jager 50w heater, a small filter it came with im just using it to circulate the water... Basicaly i wanted to know what are my chances of getting 1 small true perc clown, and a few small blue legg hermits and 2 snails.. I will perform daily water topoffs and water changes every week... am i pushing it wiht the livestock or is one small fish and a little clean up crew oky... also how about one pepermint shrimp also they are pretty small little guys.. thanks for any help :bowing:
:duh:

Very possible, and with good maintenance, great options. I think a single perc and some cleaners will work just fine. I'd avoid the shrimp--just me, but the shrimps tend to go through all the microfauna in a small tank pretty quickly--worms and micro stars were decimated when I was running my 10 by 2 small cleaners--a peppermint would be worse. You might want to avoid the hermits in favor of a variety of snails, or go with just the hermits--my hermits killed snails in my 10, but ignored them in the larger setups.

could he put more fish then just the perc... like a some small goby or something... or not get a perc a few small gobies? maybe like clown goby or a rainfords? only reason i ask is i have a unstocked 10 and have been debating what to put in it after i get live rock and stuff... also with clownfish do u need to have a canopy on or can leave the top open or will it jump out? the clownfish i have doesnt seem much the type to do any jumping..

My 10 Gal...

I have a 10 Gallon that has been up for 3 months now. It requires a lot of attention, but I don't think it is a problem. My greatest challenge has been not having a source of RO topping off and water change water, so I've been fighting algea... Am getting a RO unit for Christmas (I hope my wife read my letter to Santa!).

I run an Aqua Tech Power filter with Penguin size "A" carbon insert, Poly-Filter insert, it's bio-filter pad and a 100 micron Bio Flo pad, and a separate surface skimmer connected to a small Red Sea power filter from my one gallon nano tank, with some Poly-Filter in it and a charcoal bag. I also run a rotating powerhead for water movement.

My lights are a standard 10 gallon Sattelite hood with a double fluorescent tube (one light is bluer than the other) and a double LED moonlight I rigged on it after the hood's original moonlight LED died. The tank is heavily planted with two types of marine plant, both green. You can read below what I keep in it. I will try to include a photo later...(included an older one before the colt and other more recent stuff was added) I do a 10% change every two weeks and everyone is happy!

Yes it is possible. I have a 3.5 week saltwater 10 gallon and it is going great. However, I bought pre-treated water.

I have a quarantine 10 gallon tank, but its ugly looking because the water around here can grow a nice carpet of black cyano and Its inconquerable. Ive next to defeated it in my 55 though :o

BTW mattt6511 welcome to AC !!!!!! Its an addiction!
