treat like any hypancistrus. Meatier foods and flakes will do. Try fine sand as a substrate with some rounded rocks and some driftwood or caves to simulate a river set up. Hypans usually try to move the substrate around to set up its dwelling place. Some current is a plus.

Thanks.

Are they aggressive?

Thanks a lot. I was just unsure because when I first put him in the tank, he was going crazy, kicking up the sand and everything.

Cool looking Pleco. I will be buying a pleco soon for my new tank setup so I will keep my eye out for one. What did it cost you?

Thanks for sharing.

Believe me, you don't want to know. ;)

Ok, what happened was that I told the guy that I wanted a tiger pleco which was $8.99. He got the net and that little bucket thing and I went to look at something in one of the isles. When he gave me the bag, he started helping someone else and he wrote on the bag $24.99. It turnes out that he put in a king tiger pleco rather then a regular tiger pleco. My mom was just like "c'mon, lets just get it," so I was like ok, and we got it. Yea, I know I got ripped off, but I won't let it happen again. I will pay more attention next time.

$25 is pretty good for a L66, at least compaired to what alot of places charge.

Oh wow, I had no idea, I just thought that I was completely getting ripped off. I wish though that he comes out a little more.

Don't count on it. I have had my King Tiger for well over 3 months and he always hides under this one driftwood piece I have. I find he is one of the more aggressive plecos that I have (also have a Brown Zebra, Spotted Sailfin-believe is L006, not the Gibbiceps pleco looks nothing like it-, and a Red fin Black Spot). He keeps the little Brown Zebra in check. The other two hang out at the other side of the tank. I got mine at wholesale prices but he would have been 29.99 retail.

If you want him to come out, drop in sinking shrimp pellets. Works for me everytime.:D

Try to get them used to being fed under lights, it'll make them come out for food more eagerly!

My common pleco is out all the time. He couldn't care less about the light being on or off. Usually, the tiger is in the bottom corner of the tank and he stayes there all day, except for today. He is in one of the holes in the driftwood which is good because I can see him pretty good. The bristlenose for the first time today is in a little car decoration. If all three are in the three holes in the driftwood, I will get a picture. I wish they would do that. It would be pretty cool.

I have had my king tiger pleco for a couple months and i see mine often. The first week or so it was always hiding, but now it has no problem coming out night or day...except when my roommate is around (she is kinda loud and likes to tap at the fish tank.) Here are some pics of my pleco (http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/coco_57105/lst?.dir=/Pleco&.src=ph&.order=&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/)

Does anyone know how to sex them? By defalt it gets called a she, so i hope she does not mind...

She loves algea discs and frozen blood worms. She will eat frozen brine shrimp, freeze dried tubifex worms and freeze dried blood worms, but is not as fond of them. I have not tried shrimp pellets, but maybe she will like those, i will have to give them a try.

She is timid compared to my other fish. She tends to be the last one to eat, sometimes i do not see her eat at all. I am going to try feeding her zucchini sometime so i know that she is getting enough food.

$25 in a nice price, i got mine for $30... not to bad considering this is the middle of no where south dakota.

How big is your pleco NJ devil fan?
