my black mystery apple snail hasn't moved in weeks. he was just floating around the tank for a couple weeks, then finally came down and has been sitting on the bottom in the same place for a couple weeks. i know he's not dead because i see him open up occasionally and peek out, but he doesnt move.

0 ammonia
0 nitrites
10-15 nitrates
7.8 pH
and i know i have hard water because it leaves water spots on everything.
78-80 degrees.

Anything in there picking on him? If a fish nips at the snail every time it pokes out, it will stop trying--and eventually starve to death.

i dont think so. i just have glowlight tetras and the honey gourami. i always thought glowlight tetras were pretty mellow, and the honey gourami is really shy.

Apple snails can take rest periods from hours to weeks at a time. This is normal. As long as you see him move from time to time, or note that his trap-door (operculum) is tightly shut, he is okay. It's when the trap-door is open and he isn't moving that you should begin to worry.
