good idea/bad idea?

Someone suggested I can keep macroalgae (eg. cheeto grass) in the bottom end of my drilled overflow.
There is overflow light from the MH's, and copepods would grow & mulltiply. I am considering this as I'm not sure I have enough room in my sump to turn it into a refugium.
What d'yall think??? :idea2:

I don't think that the overflow light would do it . It probably won't be bright enough if you were to suppliment it that would work. You don't need the light to grow pods and to have the extra filtration though.
