Hello,
In my 55 gallong freshwater tank I have noticed a weird fungus growing on my driftwood and it has now spread to my fake plants. My tank is undergoing a fishless cycle and is at the end of the process; finally at 0 nitrites and 0 ammonia today. But now my concern is why do I have this fungus growing everywhere ??? I don't want to add fish like this. Any idea what it is ? It is white to light brown in color and is mainly on one piece of driftwood but has now attached itself to most of the plants on one side of the tank. It doesn't really look like the clear mucus that usually forms when cycling a tank. This stuff has been around for about 2 - 3 weeks. I thought it was part of the cycling process but it is not going away. Any ideas ? Do I have to start the fishless cycling all over ?
