has anyone in here bred a johanni mbuna cichlid? im getting a female and i was just wondering if they pair off easily or if they are good parents and any other tidbits i might need to know

they are harem breeders, meaning that the male will want to breed quit often, but his way of atracting a female is quit stressful to her and he will continue even if she doesn't want to breed. with a harem breeder setup, one alpha male is placed with about five females. that way the aggresion will be spred about and there will be at least one femaleat the time who is willing. I could never tell a female johanni from a electric yellow labidochromis. I bet you alredy know they are moutbrooders.
