Caribbean Live Rock

Farmed? Wild? The stuff I've seen has nice corraline but is very round and dense. I wouuld want to see before I bought (it might make good base rock if it's that cheap ;)

The carribean live rock must be aquacultured because it is illegal to harvest liv rock from the carribean.

That's kinda why I asked, when I hear "cheap liverock" I wonder.....

When I said cheaper, I meant by about a dollar to two dollars a pound and it said cultured Carribian live rock. Thanks for all of the info. Could someone also fill me in on the difference between this and Figi or the others?

Georgiaman,

Might I suggest checking out a few websites with photos of rock you'll get a better idea of what you're shopping for than what my lame descriptions can do. Fiji tends to be a little dense, with lots of purple corraline, porites coral, and sponges. Carribian tends to have gorgonians, macroalgae, and more pink/red corraline. Density can vary due to farming (type of rock) it's mostly aragonite.
