It's really bad for it.
I spilled some the day before yesterday, and yesterday I spent the whole day taking apart the computer and cleaning every little piece of circuitry with methanol. Got it all back together, keyboard is fried. Averatec, the computer's maker, will fix it if I send them the computer and some money ($120+shipping). This will take two weeks.
So I negotiated with my parents. They bought me a new computer and I picked it up that night at the local Staples (they bought it at a staples at home) and my dad is going to buy the old computer off me to use for himself. Not bad, huh?

Just a hint Raspberry Wine doesn't do a thing for your keyboard either :)
I did that a couple of weeks ago, sooooooo being extremely frustrated with how things are going after not being able to salvage the board I ripped it to shreds, no mean feat and then went out and bought myself a wireless one............now I can sit at my desk with my feet resting on the desk leaned back in my chair keyboard on lap and raspberry wine at my elbow (some things never change) :D

What do you mean "Don't spill Mountain Dew on your Laptop??".. You received a free new laptop didn't you?? and..... your Dad is buying your old one. I see nothing to complain about :bday:

I have to pay the difference between the old one and the new one, in other words, we're subtracting the value of the old computer (which we will negotiate) from the new one ($649- it was on sale for $749, minus a $100 mail in rebate) and I have to pay the difference. There is also a big chance that I wont get the expensive tires I wanted to put on my car this Christmas.
...oO(Maybe I should spill some Mountain Dew on my laptop...)

Glad to see your parents aren't letting you off scot free. I feel for you though. I have gone through 4 cell phones in the past year. I work outside and I have yet to find a waterproof cell phone. Flip phones are the worst. There is no warranty when they get wet. I had one last 2 days and died because a little bit of rain on a drizzly day.

They never let me off scot free. Ever. I paid for all three cars that I own, my bike, my past 2 bikes and my past 3 cars which I have sold, and I paid for the first laptop. They just paid for the new one since it was an emergency situation.
