My tank is exactly 1 week old now. Its 55 Gal with an Eheim 2217 filter. In my manual it states to remove the carbon filter after 1 week. Currently my ammonia is holding at 4 ppm 0 Nitrites. Im wondering if its ok to go ahead and remove the carbon filter without disrupting my cycle?

TIA

frankly, i can't think of a reason to remove the carbon. if you're going to use carbon in your filter (i personally neither see a reason for it nor use it, but that's another thread), then i'd just leave the carbon in the filter.

if you're interested in why to use carbon or not, start another thread and we can discuss it fully there.
