hi
I have two angels that have laid eggs before, but never came babies from them/.
Lately they have been kissing each other on the mouth.
But they have been kissing so much that they are doing harm to their mouths. actually some cotton fungus is beginning to grow in their mouths. is this common? does it mean something? should I do something?
thanks

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 26 gallon tank with two angel fish, full grown, and a plecostomus, small one. (it used to be more crowded, but I recently lost my golden gourami, and three small chinese algae eaters)
I have this aquarium from more than 5 years ago, and one of the angels has that age, he's one of the first fish I bought.
I have been having algae problems lately.
I wonder if the cotton mouth can be treated with gentian violet? I have used it on my fish with great success. I also have treated them with fungus cure before. I find that the local gentian violet applied to the fish, works best, but I have never use it on the mouth.
what do you suggest?
thanks

are you sure you have a male and female? Angels normally lip-lock when sparring over territory, over mates, or over breeding. You will typically see 2 males doing this when they are setting up house for breeding. I'm wondering if you have 2 females due to the eggs. When you said they never had babies but they had eggs, did they eat the eggs or the eggs just never hatched after a few days?
