today i got hom and noticed that my fish (a rather large bass, about 1 foot long) has some discoloration on some of his scales. its odd because it looks random but they've turned very light and is easy to see on the black band that runs the length of his body.
the edges of his fins also have turned from the darkesh gray to an almost milky white. they are not tattered or broken, just discolored for about half a centimeter along the edges.
i noticed a few days ago that he had a spot on his side fin that looked like a zit almost, pink at the base with a white spot on the top. since that showed up i've been adding MelaFix the last couple of days and also because he's had some scrapes on the side of his body from scraping the rocks. this just makes me even more suspicious that alternate symptoms are appearing. the spot on his fin has almost completely healed, as have the scratches, and i haven't seen any other ones so i'm really at a loss for what's going on.
anyone have any ideas as to what it is? its times like these when i really wish i had a digital camera :(
