I need some advice! I just purchased a hexagon 2 gallon all glass aquarium and I need some advice on what type of filter to purchase. I've heard some good and bad about the Azoo filter. Anyone with any suggestions? Thank you!

I have one of those little azoos as an extra filter in a 5 gallon. It seems to work alright...I haven't had any mechanical issues with it, but I can't say how well it filters since I have another filter in this tank as well. I just stuck that one in there because I had it laying around and thought it'd be nice to have an extra filter ready if I needed it.

I would think a small undergravel would be the best choice. They sell small kits at most fish stores.

UGF would work well in that tank, just keep in mind that you need to keep up with gravel vacuuming and maintenance.

I would be wary of the Azoo Palms, only because Azoo isn't exactly the tops as a company. However, I've been running a Red Sea Nano Filter (very similar to the Azoo Palm Filter in most respects) (sorry I tend to quote Star wars) anyway it's a great little filter, relatively quiet, efficient, and almost invisible.

I'd recommend picking up one of those above any other filter choice.

But that's just my opinion and experience.

I have heard that Stingrays can be a little risky, as there are reports of fish being sucked into them. I really wanted one, but when I read that I chose other avenues of filtration.

I can't speak for the Elite. It looks nice.

I also found a small filter which is essentially a piece of foam in a plastic container that suctions to the wall of the tank and an air pump creates a current through it (really just an internal bubble filter). It works well but I think that with a tank so small an ugf is the best as it doesn't take up any room for fish to swim around. But yes, make sure to geta gravel vacuum to keep it clean.

Thanks for all your info! I have considered using a UGF because I have one for my 10g and it seems to be working well, my only problem is that my 2g is a hex and I don't know that I can find a UGF to fit? I am interested in the Red Sea Nano Filter but haven't been able to find one in either of the two LFS or Walmart, does anyone know where I can purchase one online? Also it only came with a screen top, I would like to purchase a hood with a light for it but I'm having trouble finding this as well. :look:

I have seen kits for UGF's at my LFS that are meant for bowls. They are small circles and would probably fit easily.
