BGF and what/how to feed.

buy yourself a turkey baster or a eye dropper and frozen bloodworms,brine shrimp, beef heart, squid... you know. thaw them out in a cup and than squirt the food right infront of the fishes cave.

that is mine a very active fish and hard to get a picture of...but I managed much like jason could have with his gourami

mine was out all of the time during the day especially during feeding. I only had to "precision feed it" for the first few weeks... I than started just dumping the food in there after it had thawed forcefully sot hat it would still sink to the bottom. towards the end of me having my bgk it actually would come to the top to get freeze dried krill and such.

mine never tried anything of the sort. make sure it is in a tank that is large enough for it and that there is nothing that may startle it I looked at your sig and dont kn ow what tank it is in so I cant give you any advice but if that dojo loach is in there with it that thing will prob **** off the bgk those are nuts.

Try feeding it some zuchinni, shrimp pellets, feeder guppies, ghost shrimp, live blackworms. Many times you have to acclimate them to packaged or frozen foods.

He grew to 18" in my tank. He outgrew a 225. He went to a 1,000 gallon tank. You might plan on a bigger tank in the near future.

If you get some floating plants to act as a cover you will see the BGK out very often through the course of the day. Increasing water flow is also a good idea. Even a very strong bubble wall works.

While virtually blind, the BGK is photo sensitive. And is considered a nocturnal species.

If you want to see it grow and prosper water changes of a significant % one to two times weekly are in your future. The BGK is very sensitive to water conditions and reacts adversely and quickly to declining water quality.

I used to have a small (6" perhaps) similar fish. It was labeled ghost knife. Color was dark brown and had not the distinctive white dash at the tail.

It lived just a few weeks in my tank. I had to move all my fish from the main tank, to a bath tub, and the back to the tank. After a few days, I found him dead inside of his cave. However, when he was alive he only ate tubifex worms. I had to drop them aroun his cave, and the fish would just go out enough to get a bite and then will hide again.
