OK I know this's kind of a silly question. I want to add cichlid to my tank but I don't want to overstock it. So the best I can do is to just add one dwarf cichlid such as blue or bolivian ram or an Apisto. Base on their profiles some of them like to hang out as pairs. So if I just get one would it do it any harm?

Apistogramma need soft, acid water to thrive. a single cichlid of any dwarf species will do poorly ... these are social fish and without conspecifics, will not be able to exhibit normal behaviour. this leads ultimately to fading away prematurely.
