Hey... I live in that area as well....

There isnt alot to choose from. There are your basic chain stores, and one small mom and pop shop which isnt very good.

The best place to buy fish and supplies isnt local but it also isnt too far away either (maybe too far away just to get simple quick things). Its a place called Aquarium Center in Randallstown MD. Their website is www.aquariumcenter.com.

Great store... everything you need and a fabulous selection of fish! Im planning on getting my Africans from them. There may be other shops closer but to beat these guys they would have to be really good.

Agreed just what ever you do avoid going to the aquarium center at all cost on the weekends Unless you know exactly what you are looking for and have a lot of patience. Also if you do the drive check out Exotic aquatics on belair rd just inside of the beltway. And 2001 a fish odyssey on padoina d second exit north off rt 83 And while you are doing beltway laps stop in the hose of tropics in glen burnie on the way home. All very good stores There used to be a nice shop on rockville pike west of rockville Dont remember the name And I havent been down that way for a few years. They allways had some nice dwarf ciclids.

I guess Fredericksburg is considered NoVa. The absolute best store there (and only besides pet smart I think) is called Maru Pets. It's on 208 right off Route 1. Great store, selection, and prices. No more than an hour from Manassas. They'll also order something if they don't have it.

There's also a really good pet store in Warrenton. Also no more than an hour from where you're moving. I can't remember the street name however. Next time I go I'll write the directions down from 29.

Helloooooo NoVA peoples!

lets not forget the "centreville aquarium" store at the corner of 29 & 28 in centreville. (kinda next to the bowling alley)

that place has good stock, GREAT employees (even the few high school kids that work evenings) but i'd definately recomend them, i go there for just about everything.

(plus he has a HUGE salt water lion fish thats neat to look at)
