I've noticed the Freshwater sections get far more traffic than the Marine sections at this forum. Why is that? Are there simply more freshwater aquarium keepers than marine or do marine aquarium enthusiasts not frequent this forum much?
Peace...

This is one of the biggest freshwater forums on the net. But our saltwater section is tiny compared to reefcentral.

Due to costs, I'm guessing that's why there's a lot more people in freshwater than saltwater. A lot of people in freshwater have small tanks (30>) which are A LOT cheaper than a full reef setup, big or small.

While I agree that thats true, I also believe that there are not as many serious FW hobbyists as marine hobbyists. Probably because it is significantly easier to keep FW fish alive. SW requires more knowledge to be successful. So IMO, there are more SW hobbyists on the net reading and posting, than FW hobbyists.

I read that about 10% of Americans have a FW tank, while less than 1% have SW...I'd do SW but can't afford it.
