Help about ick

My jack dempsey is growing ick and i'm wondering if i should i take him out and put him in a 10 gallon tank and treat him with ick medicine. Is the 10 gallon tank is too small for him, (he is about 8 inches long)? Or should i treat the the whole tank (which is 220 gallons), with a bunch of other fish?

if the fish with ich is in the big tank there are ich parasites in the big tank that need to be dealt with.

you can't do anything to the ich on the fish, only to the free swimming stage of the parasite right befor it hosts on your fish again.
