Okay, one more. Do you have a favorite holiday ornament? Mine is Santa kneeling at the manger. We keep it out year-round.

Two. Both are tree ornaments. One with "First Christmas in our New Home, 1985" and the other "Baby's First Christmas, 1986". We put those on the tree with those little motorized ornament thingys that plug into a tree light socket and make them turn round and round.

let's see.... I don't really have a favorite tree ornament yet.... oh wait, yest I do.... he's a little chubby stuffed dog wearing a sweater and scarf.... adorable little guy.... and then I have this santa guy who's a bit small, all plastic, beating on these little plastic drums. I usually don't like these kinds of things but this guy is just too cute and I somehow get lost in his little songs. Of course, he does have an on and off button ;)

My favorite is a sheltie portrait that my neighbour gave us a few years ago. It's a sheltie, but it looks a lot like my best buddy, Kahless. Kahless was a sable headed white merle rough coated collie.
We put him down a few months ago at the age of 9. He had severe hip dysplasia and it got to the point where he couldn't even walk in a straight line.
I miss him. Especially since this is the first Christmas without him :(

A dog named after a Klingon. :thm:ROFL! My husband named him :)
We bought our first collie, Gaelan, in 1995 and I named him. He was *supposed* to be my dog. We bought Kahless a year later and he was supposed to be HIS dog so he named him. So what happens? Gaelan bonds with my husband and the Klingon bonds to me :) Kahless was anything BUT Klingon-like. Never met a softer, more gentle soul.
Both dogs are gone now :( We lost Gaelan to cancer in 2003 and Kahless this year.
We do have three more collies: Hamish, Rowan (both litter mates and 3 years old) and Fergus, our new puppy. He's 6 months old.
