what kind of cichlid

A bigger picture would be better, but i am almost positive that is Dimidiochromis compressiceps. Lake Malawi African Cichlid---an ambush predator that eats fish whole. These guys get BIG and need a BIG tank.
 
Yeah I agree Dimidochromis compressiceps. Can get very large and aggressive, will likely need over a 90 gallon tank. Would also have to be kept in a hap-only "larger" african tank because thier diet is different than the more vegetarian mbuna.
