i currently am in the middle of setting up a 40 gallon reef, 1-3 weeks away from corals, any way i have a turn over rate at 856 gallons per hour, which is 21.4 times my water volume is turned over in my tank in 1 hour (still with me). I was thinking of adding another powerhead, running at 160 gallons per hour, this was to creat more water movement at the back of my LR, do you think i need it?

it sounds fine with what you have got, 20 times per hour is good. As long as you have no extreme dead spots then it is ok.

In my 75 gallon im turning my water over about 20 times per hour and its working out beautifully. Like oliver said, as long as there arent any dead spots that'll work out great for you.
