Everytime I try and close the top on my fluval 304 I have to practically stand on it in order to get it to close enough so the two side clamps will catch and i can lock it.

well the last time i did this i tried closing one of the clamps prematurely and i broke it in half!!!....i was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience....i was thinking someone must have considering how much pressure i have to put on it sometimes....maybe i am doing some thing wrong?...please let me know if there is an easier way

oh and by the way would anyone happen to know if i can order this part from Hagen .... the replacement part wasn't listed on their website?

Are you hoses still attached and valves closed while you're trying to close it? If so, you're having to compress all that air just to get it closed. Make sure your hoses are open when you're closing the lid. I've made that same mistake a few times, hehe.

I had one of my 304 clamps break, and I had to search all over the internet for replacements. Couldn't get them from Hagen, or most of the online sites that sell replacements.

When I finally found them, I bought a handful, because I suspect that they will continue to break periodically... I run a total of 5 fluvals.

I can't remember where I bought the clamps from however. It was a small site that I found on a google search.
