1 gallon of 1.5" bioballs = 13.05 square feet of surface area.
1 gallon of 1" bioballs = 21.50 square feet of surface area.
So, why aren't the 1" bioballs the standard?
I'm switching my w/d's bioballs from 1.5" to 1" and wondering if there's something I'm missing.
Possibly:
The tighter spacing with the 1" bioballs causes less aeration? Less O2 exchange?
I don't know.
Any thoughts?
