mondo plant in garbage?

ok so i found out a bought a mondo plant, %$#*@ petco
now should i just throw it out? since from what ive been reading it sounds like its doomed being a terrestrial plant.

it only cost 3.99 i can spare that lol....but what would i put in its place? i want something easy and it will be a fore ground plant so something that doesnt get tall. i have a 26 gallon bow front tank with a sword, anubias, anarchis and moneywort in the back and sides. so i want something pretty for the front.

the light that came with the standard all glass brand hood
should i change the light tube to a better one? the tank is very bright, i have whitish natural sand and its reflecting
i cant add more cuz the bow tank needs a different hood and my tank must be covered because i dont want fish to jump out

would this be a good plant for a terrarium, that is very humid 1/3 land (gravel and peatmoss? Would it work well growing out of the water?
