my 2 ottos have been fine for about a month until they ate all the algae, so now they are starving. i had them in an unplanted established tank.
now i moved them into a new planted tank while it doesnt have any algae yet i was wondering if they will get a meal out of the plants and fatten up?
they seem to be hanging out on the anarchis. will they eat this plant? they need something to eat their bellies are sunken in. ive been trying algae wafers and they wont touch them, ive tried shrimp pellets and flakes and nothing.
they are still active allthough i dont know how being they are so skinny.
so can they recover in this new planted tank? the tank is a 26 gallon bowfront, sandy substrate, anarchis, moneywort, sword, anubias and a mondo plant (which will go in the garbage i think)
so do they have a chance or are they toast?

Use zuccini or cucumber. Blanch it for a few minutes and then drop it to the bottom of the tank. I use a "fork with a cord" to pinch the cucumber pieces and drop them. When it's been eaten, I just pull the fork out with the cord.

You could also put a little garlic oil in the blancing water. This seems to attract them for the food.
