Hello everyone, I need a little advice on planting some Micranthemum. Their roots are so delicately wooven throughout the little cube of rockwool. My substrate is flourite.
I appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Terry.

Don't worry about the delicate roots, snip the plant from the rockwool and plant as you would any other stem plants. They'll quickly grow new roots.

are we talking planting all individual stems?

Planting the individual stems slightly apart would allow more light to reach the lower leaves, allowing a healthier looking plant longterm. You can plant them in little bunches for less hassle but I usually plant at least the front row individually.

If I spread them out, will they fill in. How do they spread?
Do I need to worry about them being riped out by certain fish, I have;
mollies, tetras, apistos, rams, rainbows, zebras and angels.

thanks,

Terry.

They will develop side shoots but don't space them too far apart or it will look thin, something like a cm apart should still look nice and you can add more behind the initial row to fill in gaps.

rainbows being decent sized fast swimmers may knock a few stems up if it isn't planted deep enough but the others usually leave them alone.

You know, as meticulous as it was, I enjoyed laying out the rows. I used a 8" pair of tweezers. It worked out and looks great, I can't wait till they kick in.

Thanks again.

Terry.
