I have a 10 gallon, not too planted, w/

- 3 male guppies
- 2 adf (pair, they've mated)
- 3-4 ghost shrimp
- 2 Ottos

... while I think that my tank might be close to it's bio-level, I am wanting to add a couple of KUHLI LOACHES to the tank to deal with snails.

... I'm getting some lighting which will double my wattage (up to 3w/gal) which means I can get some non-Java Fern plants and I'd love to have a lush full green aquarium bursting with plants. I'm going to re-do the substrate and give it a go.. I just don't want those darn snails to ruin it all and I'm getting tired of them.

- Should I get 1, 2 or NO Kuhli loaches?
- Would a loach out compete the frogs for food? (Although, nocturnal I could feed them at night, the frogs in the morn..)
- Would it be too much for the tank to handle bio-load wise?
- Is a 10 gallon just too small for them?

I just have a question about why you dont want the snails? they dont really do any harm (pond snails, ramshornn, MTS) apple snails and mystery snails are the harmful type. also, snails only breed according to the amount of left over food. they keep your aquarium pretty clean also. really they are not all that bad. I have never had kuhli loaches but I am pretty sure I have read that they are not the best w/ snail removal but will do okay. apparently they dont eat the larger ones just the babies. its not to hard to out compete an ADF for food, maybe try precision feeding w/ a turkey baster and frozen food so it goes right to them... mine respond very well to that. I am just now starting a planted 10g as well, I am just going to use gravel as a substrate though no special stuff
