How can I make the titles of my threads more eye catching so people will want to read them?

Keep 'em short and to the point.
Don't double post.
Be nice.
Have patience.

This site seems to have a pretty good through-put, so sometimes it takes people a few days to catch up with the active posts. Especially the threads started on a holiday. I've always been impressed by the wealth of knowledge of most of the people here. If it takes a day or two for someone with first hand experience to answer a specific question, then so be it. :thm:

i agree with galaxie but if i want to know something bad enough i still keep searching for an answer isnt that what the internet for? :shark:

Pretty much what annoys me are thread titles that don't tell me what the thread is about. Titles such as "help" are no use for me. That same title labeled as "My fish are covered in white spots" makes me much morer interested because I have first hand experience in fighting that specific disease. Many times I will just pass over "help" but my other title example would have interested me.

Titles that say "just a couple of questions" or "I need advice" or "I'm a newbie" are really vague and annoying. I just skip over these. I prefer titles that describe (briefly) the specific nature of the problem or question. I'm attracted to funny titles too, if they are also specific about what's in the thread.

i try to keep mine in between vauge and straight to the point -lol- but galaxie is right somtimes it takes a little while to get a specific response so if its really really really urgent post here AND go ask jeeves -lol-

How about;

READ THIS OR YOU WILL DIE!!!!

:laugh:

I never read threads with misspelled titles unless I'm looking for trouble :Angel: That's my pet peeve. If you can't take the time to at least title your thread in a legible manner why should I bother reading it?
