Why is the Pond Forum always so dead and quiet? As you probaly know, I have a pond and when I have promblems with it I always get slow responses, in which time the problems have just got worse or I have figured it out on my own. Ponds are popular, arn't they?

my pond is frozen right now so theres not much i can ask, but when spring comes ill be asking probably a million questions :D
is it really dead tho? maybe its because its winter? or has it always been a slow forum?

Yeh it's always been a slow forum...I don't see why though as many homes around the uk and- wait a sec, is Aquaria Central even British? Or is it American? I have been using AC for about a year now, and I don't even know it's origins! :duh:

By the way, you said your pond was frozen? It's not good if your pond is completey frozen as toxins and gasses can't escape- and the fish can't get oxogen. You should break a hole in it using warm decholrinated water, then, to prevent it from freezing again, put a heater in (though I haven't bothered) or a floating plastic container (that's what I opted for). I don't really know about using a fountain or pump/filter to prevent ice, as my pond doesn't have either!

Fishy,
Yeah, this forum is usually quiet this time of year but give a few more months and you will see a few more threads appear. But truthfully, its not a popular forum here at AC. That is why I still push people to try smaller ponds. :) get some interest going on the topic.
Here are some pretty pond pictures.

only a fraction of the people who keep fish will actually use any given forum, and since only a fraction of them have ponds, not many people will use a pond forum. I don't have a pond yet, but I will in a couple of years

Yes but if you have a patio or a terrace you can always have a Whiskey Barrel pond or another type of container pond.

I live in a fourplex and my backyard is a big drive way, so I don't think my neighbors would appricate it. It'll have to wait untill I am done with school.

it's slow here because there are better forums dedicated to ponds and the fish that inhabit them

Trickster I'm popping in from time to time. I'm a pond newbie, but have a 13k pond. I'm no authority, but have many that are that I'm learning from. I have LOTS to learn yet.
