I have a 46 gallon reef, with LR, Clam, and some fish. The reef has a hang on, red sea prism skimmer. THe skimmer is letting a film out onto the top of the water, and it is all over the entire surface of the water. The film is light brown, and it bubbley. Has anyone had one of these skimmers, and know how to make it work well. Thanks

If I read you correctly, the film is coming from the skimmer? I haven't used one of those skimmers for a while, but as I recall there is a surface skimmer on the intake that should take care of it. I've seen dinos grow on the surface of the water that might be the source. Also, try doing a google search on Prism mods or something of that nature you might find a way of improving what you have.

Many people say that prizms are bad skimmers, about as good as the adverage sea clone, and also they need to be tweaked every day, prehaps you should try something on reefcentral
