One of my Black Mollies gave birth last week (champagne & cigars for everyone! :D) It is about 3/16" long and quite healthy, eating the food the others in the tank eat. It is currently in a vented fry box.

When would you set it free with the other tank mates?

just one mollie fry? my dalmations usually had 50+ at one time. with about 20 living to be big enuff to avoid the bumblebee catfish.
your list of tankmates looks harmless enuff but i dont know much about that frog.
imo it should be ok.
my lyretail is swelling in a familiar non-bloat way, so i should know all about fry first hand again in a few days.

Yeah, I thought that was almost strange that only one fry was found. Maybe the others were mistaken for flake food??
How big are Molly fry when they first come out?

from my understanding the dwarf frogs will eat anything they can fit in there mouths.
looked at the tank specs you could add some fish almost double your stock if you wanted to:D
Sounds like your mollies might just do that for you.

we've got fry!

momma is a white lyre tail and poppa is either a stunted growth, mostly black dalmation or more likely a golden colored sailfin. or she got jiggy with somebody before i bought her, but i thought that was over a month ago. i thought it only took a couple of weeks.
better go find my fry net.

My speculation is that you most likely have had more fry than that in the tank, you just never had a chance to see them before they were eaten. They hide well and can be a tasty meal for any fish.

As far as the size concern, well, I'd wait until it was too large to fit into anyone's mouth, aside from the amphibian that is.
