Well a few days ago i purchased my first male con, hes almost full grown, probably around 4". And yesterday i got him a female, now i took the male out of his tank for a few hours to let the female get used to her new surroundings. So when she looked comfortable with her new tank i put the male back in. Now i have a 20g tank with 2 flower pots partially filled with gravel. My concern is that he seems to be agressive towards her, i dont think hes bittin her but just kinda chasin her around the tank from time to time. He kinda butts her with his head. Is this normal? Will the feamale become more comfortable with the male? and over time will the male come to except her?

And she tends to spend alot of her time in a corner or on top of the water in the corner? Should i be concerned about this? And yes it is a female and a male, the female has very beautifull orange tint to her belly.

i'd try adding a few tetras as dither fish and then wait a few days to see what happens

u mean to add them to take the focus off the female? that mite just work, but what happens when all the tetras are gone?

Is the female spending a lot of the males money? Some times that get them mad.
Is there a big size differance between the fish. Did the male come from a large tank? My 4in pouted when I put him in the 30gl for breeding at first.
I agree with the post above you may want to throw in a buffer fish. Maybe a cheep feeder or something.
Try also turning one of the pots so the open end faces the corner so the femal can hide in the pot and in the corner. That should give her a chance to destress if she has some time to her self.
Oh, put a mirror and a hair brush in her new home females love those things.
Cylon Out!
