Good afternoon everyone. I'm looking for suggestions for stocking my 75 gallon freshwater. It is currently home to 8 Giant Danios and 8 Tiger Barbs and after being up and running for nearly 3 months, finally fully cycled. They seem to be mid dwellers and I think if I add more mid dwellers it might get a bit congested at that level. My son would like a couple of Catfish so I'd love to hear your thoughts on a nice species that doesn't grow too large. I'd like to add them in about a week or two. After that I'd like to give it a few weeks and then introduce something else, but I have no idea what. Suggest away.....

Cats, or 'plecos? Fish of the Loricaaid family are cool, but the common pleco and many relatives will get too big. Ancistrus (bristlenose) will stay small enough you could have 3-4, and are good workers as well. Some of the other fancies require special care, so research well before buying.
Other options for bottom dwellers are cories. 6-7 of them would be happy, and they are very industrious cleaners of the substrate as well.
Many of the other commonly seen cats won't work--most cats are predators, and can get large enough to eat the barbs. You might want to look at the upside down cats, though--they are peaceful fish, that really do swim upside down, which is fun.
