Well, what a surprise today !

I've had these stappersi for about a month now. One had layed eggs but was chased from her shell by another...never knew what happened to the eggs, I just figured they were goners.

Today, I peek in the tank and see 4 little babies chillin in the sand. Cute little peanuts these ! I have no idea how old they are....if they're the original eggs that were layed by the other female...or if it's a new batch layed by the dominant female...doesn't matter I suppose.

Some pics of dad....babies....and mom protecting the brood.....

Well, there was alot of activity in the tank last night near the female and her brood....this morning I haven't seen any of the little ones around...even after feeding......so....either they've found someplace else to hide out in there or they got eaten....

I didn't think shellies ate thier fry....but heck.....I imagine they'd look a tasty treat to any fish looking for a snack....

Lol...OH Well....at least I got a few pics of them !

I also have a bunch of neolamprologus multifasciatus.....I started with a trio and now I have over 20 little fry of various sizes flitting all over my 20long !!

Multis DEFINITELY don't eat thier fry !! :D

(I wish....sometimes....they would eat just a few... )

I have a large colony of Neolamprologus multifasciatus that have taken over a 55g tank. Anyone in the Seattle area who will take care of some (proper water conditions, etc.) is welcome to a grouping...PM me.
