I have a Bengal Loach (Botias Dario) and would like to get him some buddies. I have a few questions:

1. Do Bengal Loaches eat snails? I've got a bunch of Malaysian trumpet snails and would like to keep their population controlled.

2. How many more bengal loaches should i get? Can i keep him with other loaches?

3. Are Bengal loaches hardy? this one has lasted for a long time.

botia dario is sometimes called queen loach.
2. How many more bengal loaches should i get? Can i keep him with other loaches?
Like most all loaches they like to be in groups, so depending on your tank size, 2 or more would be a good addition. Again depending on your tanks size, you could keep a group of these with another group of loaches, but they the probably will not interact too much.

I am not sure if they eat snails or not, most botias do. If you crush some small ones for your guy to get a taste, they should go searching them out.

If they are living in the right water parameters they should live for many years. I do not think are as sensitive as clowns and kuhlis but do require good water quality like all fish.
