Now i just put in a tetra today to try and focus the male agressivness onto another fish other than the female. Now my question is what can i expect the outcome to be? Will this help the female and male to pair up better too breed?

It might be a good idea to put in multiple dithers (depending on the size of the tank) so as to distribute the aggression onto multiple dithers.

dithers helped my pair get along, the male doesn't chase around the female: instead they "defend" their territory from the 4 rosy tetras.

i've had good experience with giant danios, they are good and harty. But i bet that your tank isn't a long rectangle, its a high one. So smaller ones would probably be better, giant daios need a lot of space to swim.
