Which bottom feeders are best for my tank?

Well, I just setup a Marineland Eclipse System 12 with plenty of live plants. I noticed that there are algae growing, so i'm deciding to add a (or a mixture) of fish(es) that will for the most part keep the tank algae free. I've narrowed the choices down to either SAE's, rubber-lip plecos, or Otocinclus. Which type or mixture of these would be best and how many? Feel free to recommand other fishes as well. Thanks

what other fish will be in the tank? ottos are good for plants if you have several of them, but other fish might bother them. never had thick lips but plecos eat constantly and if they get too big they can disturb your plants. try a smaller pleco maybe like a banjo cat.

Right now I have 4 Fancy tail mollies (2 black and 2 silver) cycling the tank. I'm thinking of adding either a few angel's or maybe a few cichlids, and possible some larger tetras. I've never kept plecos or otos before. The only algae eating fish I have is a young Golden Chinese Algae eater in my Eclipse Hex 5 system.

the eyeballs of your otto will be in danger if you put goouramis,or any cichlid in with them. they like to stay in one spot for a long time and get their eyes poked out. if you want cichlids you could always clean the algea your self. when you do your water changes gently rub the algea off the plants with your fingers. mollys are good algea eaters since they graze all day long. they need algea in their diet also.
