I like visitherm stealth, they automatically turn off when taken out of water and they are shatter resistant, they dont take away from your tank either (they're all black). I have 2x250watt heaters on my 65gallon tank, I don't remember what wattage per gallon is used,I think it was like 5watts at least for the heater per gallon. I don't really know, it doesn't seem efficient to use 4 heaters on a large tank, just trying to bump the post. I have used ebo-jager too.

I use Hagen Tronic heaters in all my tanks.

the Pro-heat titanium is deffinately the best. Its titanium so it will resist the chemicals and salt in the SW aquarium. This is what I have and I have never had a problem with it.

Agree..I am using 6 of them currently and really like them

I have a 350 watt in a 75 gallon that is in a barn with temps in the mid 40's and the 350 keeps the water at 72 without a problem

I am really pleased with the Hydor in-line heater, I have a 300 watt on a 110 gallon discus tank keeping it rock-solid at 82 degrees.

I love All-Glass heaters. Made by the same company who makes the aquariums. Can get a nice 300W submersable heater from BigAls for 19.99.

Are Rena submersible or Hydor submersibles good for in the saltwater?

i have 6 Stealth heaters. Great heaters and if you have a petsmart, go online print out their prices and the store will price match.

I had one of those. After about a year, it got hung in the ON position. My tank was 92 degrees and it was still on. Thermostat was set on 78 degrees. I turned the thermostat all the way down and it still wouldn't shut off. I've heard of others having the same problem, so be careful. I'll stick with Ebo-Jager (Eheim).
