High Nitrites! Please help!

Hi everyone
I have a question about my 29g tank. It has been set up for about 2 months now and has 2 clown fish, 1 spotted shrimp goby and 5 turbo snails. I just added two Banggai cardinals 2 days ago and tested my water today. The Nitrites and Nitrates have gone up a little bit. Will the fish be ok? Is there anything I can do to help get the levels back down? Thanks
PS Also, I don't know if my Banggai's are eating. they just bite at the food and spit it out. I am feeding frozen thawed blood worms and brine shrimp.

My Nitrites are still high and I can't find any information on how to lower them or when to start worrying about them. Any info would be helpful.

What is the ammonia level? Most likely, what you are seeing is a mini-cycle that will result every time you increase the bio-load--the increased waste from the additional fish overwhelms the existing bacteria colonies and they have to expand to consume it all. This takes a few days. If the levels spike significantly, you should perform water changes as needed to control the levels.

You might want to try a more varied food--that's pretty high protien.
