Hi, I know I posted b4 and was asking about a lionfish I had, sorry to say but he died later that day :( we believe the culprit was an emerald green crab.....but I was just wanting to say hi and that I'm glad there is someplace with nice people to answer questions and be patient with us newbies :). There is so much info to take in and try to process along with trying to decifer the 50 different answers you can get to one question lol.

Also to just post what our setup is atm....

We have a 29gl. tank with a yellow tang, one piece of live rock (about 5lbs.) and 2 more pieces of base rock, 5 snails (black turbos? and Mexican Turbos) and 3 or 4 hermit crabs.. It has a Emperor hang on filter and we have a protein skimmer. CC on the bottom. This tank was started in Sept. 05. This was kind of a let's try it and see what happens tank, with the thought of purchasing a larger tank depending on how it went.

Well in Oct. my hubby got me a 125gl. Megaflow tank. We did not set this up until about 3 weeks ago. Hubby made the stand, hood & sump, about 25-30gl sump & in it we have rubbermaid 3 drawer stacking thing with filter media & carbon on the top, bio balls in the middle and the third drawer has nothing, MagDrive 1800 return pump, so far we have about 45lbs. of LR, will continue to add in small amounts as to try and not recycle the tank until we have about 80-100lbs. of LR, 60lbs of Aragosomething sand and 60lbs. of live sand. We have not yet purchased a skimmer, but are using my b-i-l's bubble one atm. (Venturi) we will be getting the Coralife needlewheel skimmer. We have one actinic and one white VHO bulbs (both 6ft) with plans to add at least two more sets. For fishies (yes I know was way to soon for some of these fish...) 3 blue chromis, one yellow damsel, one clarkii clown, one maroon clown, one diamond goby, one dragonet (was supposed to be a blenny...), 5 hermit crabs, 3 emerald green crabs, 6 Mexican turbos and 4 black turbos and one peppermint shrimp and a pistol shrimp that hitchhiked in on the LR. This tank is hopefully is close to finishing it's cycle. My plans are to eventually have a little more LR, maybe a anenome, some corals, not sure what type, a cleaner shrimp or two, a starfish (don't know what one would be safe enough to have), and a "Dory" fish.

My husband has decided he wants another Lionfish, but I have gotten him a 55gl. drilled tank for his bday. That he will set up for that instead of using the 29gl. which I think we have decided to leave for a quarantine tank. I imagine it would be ok to use?

Ok now that I've babbled on long enough, again I would like to thank you for the many future questions I'm sure to have :). Have a great day/night!
Also if you have any suggestions or questions for something I forgot (lol) let me know TY.

The damsel, clarki and maroon clown wont get along. Usually its best to stick with one species of clown fish. I don't think I read your post about a lion fish before but why do you think an emerald crab did it? Sorry for your loss. The new tank will be alot better for your yellow tang, just make sure that you wait it out, everytime you add live rock you could restart or lengthen the cycle. So make sure its done before you add a fish into it.

The crab was harassing the lionfish and my husband caught the crab in the act of grabbing a hold of the lion...the crab was moved immediately into the other tank...the lionfish was not able to swim after that sort of layed around or freaked out and spiraled around the tank..we tried leaving the light off to let him rest but it was only a matter of hours after that it died :(

So far the Maroon clown has his corner which he/she shares with one of the chromis, the clarkii has it's "hole" (in a piece of live rock he patrols regularly trying to keep it free of hermits and snails lol) and the damsel sorta stays outta everyones way. At least that's how it is for now.
