Quarantine Question

Hi Everyone:

I have two questions:

1.) What is a good quarantine period for new fish? I have heard two weeks should sufice.

2.) If I add a new fish (x) to my QT today and a week later I add another fish (y) to my QT. Lets assume I only Quarantine for two weeks. Can I add x to my fish tank after its two weeks of quarantine or do I have to let x sit in the QT until y finishes its two weeks of quarantine before I add them to the tank.

quarntine, is no trick, if you add new fish, it starts over, here at least it does, fish a might be fine, but if fish b is sick and and gives it to a just before you move a to your community tank??? Disaster!!

I quarantine 4 weeks.
Quarantine always starts over from any new additions or death or cure.

I quarantine 3-4 weeks. I have goldfish in a 10g that did not display ich until halfway through the 2nd week of quarantine.
