Hello there. My 10G tank is finally doing a little bit better. (thanks to those that helped me out.) I lost a few fish but things have settled down. Shield yourself for the onslaught of n00b questions ahead..
Algae. I know it forms naturally, but i'm having trouble getting much to grow (even after putting rocks from another tank with algae on them..) Now don't get me wrong, i don't want the tank covered in the stuff but as opposed to lots of other people, I like for there to be a fair amount of algae on the bottem (healthy kind).
How can I promote growth?
Today I spent about 45 minutes moving things around in the bottem of the tank (long story- basically added a bit of gravel and removed some plants.) Little did I know that the towel I was using for my hands was also used by my cat as a bed, therefore I have dozens of little hairs floating around in my tank, streaming from plants and sitting on the floor. Will they eventually work their way into the filter?
Last but not least.. I'm having trouble with food. You see, I don't overfeed my fish at all- just a pinch.. however they're somewhat stupid and miss half the flakes. I have lots of junk on the bottem of my tank and was wondering if anyone has feeding ideas. My snails/ shrimp aren't doing a good job as clean up crew.
