I love fish. Currently, I have aquirred a 20 gallon freshwater tank. I did have 13 platties and Mollies. Now, I'm lucky to have one male dalmation, one black male molly, and one female red platty. But not all is lost. For I have a one gallon tank filled with over 20 baby fry. I also have three baby black mollies. They were taken out of their separator two weeks after their birth. They are all still alive. Including the three black mollies.

My question is...where do I go from here? Should I leave the babies in the one gallon tank? Should I split them up with another one gallon tank? The other question I have is...How long does it take for these fry to grow?

Since no one responded, I'll chime in.

It's been ten years since I've had livebearers and their fry, but I can tell you that you don't want to add them back to the main tank just yet because they'll probably be eaten. Keep them in the one-gallon tank or two for a while yet.

I don't remember how fast they grow, but I can tell you it doesn't seem like fast enough. I remember being impatient.

What happened to the original 10 fish?
