Deltec MC500 protein skimmer

i have just fitted a Deltec MC500 protein skimmer into my jewal 180 tank its been running now for 4 days i think i have set it up correctly the bubbles rise into the collection cup then fall back down but as yet the deposit left in the collection cup is just clean water, not sure why as i know my tanks is not that clean. also the skimmer, although boosting that with the sponge filter that you should not have the problem with your tank filling with micro bubbles....it dose.....

:help: can anyone advise with these 2 problems :mad2:

try increasing airflow to stop the micro-bubbles...skimmers have a break-in period. So it might be a week before the gunk comes out.
