Click to expand... Sounds like diatoms. I'm pretty new to the game, too, but it's apparently very common, had the same problem myself when I got home from work today (also on a newly cycled tank).

C Crown Royal AC Members Dec 17, 2004 448 0 0 Jan 11, 2006 #3 Yup. Sounds like diatoms. Not unexpected in a young tank. Scrape it away and continue with regular water changes. Should work itself out over time. BTW, 7 fish sounds like an awful lot to cycle with (even if they are "little").
