recommend Cichlids for my tank

With a ph that high i would go with an all african cichlid tank,,,the lake malawi types are beautiful ,and if you choose the right ones they dont get too large.
38 gallon really isnt large enough to house most of the species from Lake Malawi. Maybe a trio or quad of yellow labs would work. Also you could look into some of the smaller species of cichlids from Lake Tangynika.
