Can plants live and grow in incandescant lighting?

They can, but they're usually not used. What kind of tank do you have in mind for this type of lighting?

Well it's just a 20 gallon. It came with an incandescant canopy a long time ago when I bought it. Fluorescent ones are like the cost of an entire new tank so I figured if they can live with incandescant then I'll try it. Probably stick with low light plants anyway.

try and get 6500k screw in pc's. home depot sells a 19 watt variety by the brand "consumer electric".
